#PentecostSunday has been glorious, I ended up joining a prayer call tonight in my prayer room, there’s nothing like praying a powerful prayer of agreement with other women of God that I connected with prayerfully last week that move in the power of God even casting out demons we sing and pray in the Holyghost as He gives us utterance and its always special, God speaks, God moves, miracles happen

This week may we continue celebrating pentecost, experiencing the demonstration of the tangible POWER of the Holy Spirit in indisputable, inexplicable and change producing results that override our human experiences

Philip had a visitation from an angel, and was instructed to go to a desert place on that road to Jerusalem, his message was refreshingly simple, he only preached “Christ Jesus” to the Ethiopian eunuch and the crowd gathered because of the practical demonstration of God’s SUPERNATURAL power

[Acts 8:6-13The crowds gathered and were paying close attention to everything Philip said, as they heard [the message] and saw the [miraculous] signs which he was doing [validating his message]. For unclean spirits (demons), shouting loudly, were coming out of many who were possessed; and many who had been paralyzed and lame were healed. So there was great rejoicing in that city.

Now there was a man named Simon, who previously practiced magic in the city and amazed the people of Samaria, claiming to be someone great. They all paid [a great deal of] attention to him, from the least to the greatest, saying, “This man is what is called the Great Power of God!” They were paying attention to him because for a long time he had mystified and dazzled them with his magic. But when they believed Philip as he preached the good news about the kingdom of God and the name of Jesus Christ, they were being baptized, both men and women. Even Simon believed [Philip’s message of salvation]; and after being baptized, he continued on with Philip, and as he watched the attesting signs and great miracles taking place, he was constantly amazed.]

When the authentic power of God is demonstrated, every magician, soothsayer, psychic, palm reader and TV medium can be delivered from the devil and transformed

Paul also moved in the power of God very successfully dealing with demons that had impacted the entire city of Ephesus

[Acts 19: 11 – 17 God was doing extraordinary and unusual miracles by the hands of Paul, so that even handkerchiefs or face-towels or aprons that had touched his skin were brought to the sick, and their diseases left them and the evil spirits came out [of them]. Then some of the traveling Jewish exorcists also attempted to call the name of the Lord Jesus over those who had evil spirits, saying, “I implore you and solemnly command you by the Jesus whom Paul preaches!” Seven sons of one [named] Sceva, a Jewish chief priest, were doing this. But the evil spirit retorted, “I know and recognize and acknowledge Jesus, and I know about Paul, but as for you, who are you?” Then the man, in whom was the evil spirit, leaped on them and subdued all of them and overpowered them, so that they ran out of that house [in terror, stripped] naked and wounded. This became known to all who lived in Ephesus, both Jews and Greeks. And fear fell upon them all, and the name of the Lord Jesus was magnified and exalted.And many of those who had become believers were coming, confessing and many of those who had practiced magical arts collected their books and [throwing book after book on the pile] began burning them in front of everyone. They calculated their value and found it to be when they calculated the value of the scrolls, the total came to fifty thousand drachmas. So the word of the Lord [concerning eternal salvation through faith in Christ] was growing greatly and prevailing.

You see, sons of Sceva were deliberately imitating Paul. The MacArthur bible commentary says, “they can provide us with a shadow from which we can form a picture of how Paul dealt with demons”

Paul spoke directly to them and commanded them in the name of Jesus to come out.

Paul followed the pattern of Jesus Himself.

But the ignominious failure of the sons of Sceva to cast out demons is clear proof that success in casting out demons is not DEPENDENT on merely using the RIGHT formula but the person using the formula must be SINCERE and a fully YIELDED channel for the SUPERNATURAL Person of the Holy Spirit

Paul in Ephesus impacted the entire community and the experience of the sons of Sceva being harassed by demons had an impact too! It drew a clear dividing line between the true disciples of our Lord Jesus Christ and the unbelievers

Lets also notice that the power of God delivered the believers that had been practicing incantations/occult. They had made a profession of faith in Christ but had retained in their possession’s scrolls containing secret formulas they had used in their occult practices

Those scrolls were very valuable, but when they came in contact with the DEMONSTRATION of the authentic genuine pure power of God, they were willing to watch their scrolls burn!

A drachma was 1 days wage, the value of these scrolls in our currency basing it on 40 bucks a day [minimum wage] the equivalent would be more than 2 million dollar’s worth of money made in the occult.

But what was the result? The Word of the Lord always grows mightily and prevails when there is a demonstration of the powerful gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ in our midst

How I pray for my beloved family and friends, that the Spirit of the almighty God will brood upon us and release an unction that will be undisputable as we continue to yield ourselves to Him and He continues to use us.

May the name of Jesus continue to work wonders among us! I pray for miracles, signs and wonders in every area of our lives, I pray that the things that seem impossible become miraculous manifestations of God’s power in the matchless name of Jesus the Messiah, the resurrected Lord, the King of the Kingdom that rules over the powers of darkness, that every occult powers in the realm of the spirit wherever we are located loose their power and permanently cease functioning around us in the powerful name of Jesus Christ,

Lord continue to use our lives to demonstrate the power of a risen Savior in everything we do! We are a peculiar people! people marked by a lifestyle of signs and wonders 24/7 We will always serve the Lord forever and ever with our gifts and talents moving in the power of God ALL OVER THE WORLD unafraid of the devil AMEN!
