I remember the days as a little girl, with a spirit fortified,
Growing up in a military family with army generals by my side.
I’d watch the grand motorcade passing our gated community,
In the neighborhood where the head of state I would meet,
Chosen to offer him welcome flowers, a smile on my face,
A military daughter finding her place.

My roots were deeply planted by my beloved mother, Naomi's blessed dad,
Chief Daniel, the bravest that I knew, he made history.
A World War II veteran who taught me the way,
Of hard work and discipline, day after day.
He modeled a life that was honest and true,
A Christian who kept a biblical view.
He studied the Word, and his doors opened wide,
For British missionaries who’d sit by his side— My mother’s sweet nannies,
whom later I’d see in America,
By the waters of the Chesapeake Bay calling me,
To minister there in their church, catch up on family, and declare,
My grandfather's legacy for a blessed lineage.

I enjoy visiting my beloved grandfather’s friends, Beloved Sister Jackie, at the Chesapeake Bay!
Through Sunday school mornings and pews made of oak,
I responded to the gospel each time that it was declared spoke.
Those seeds of my youth at Good Shepherd church blessed me manifold,
Now a woman in tech, with a blessed story to unfold.
My character was built on the bedrock of bible studies,
Shaping my career for a tech leadership space.
My trust and my credibility brightly gleam,
Traced back to a childhood authentic and clean.
I always chose the right company, honest and clear,
Away from deception, bad company, and the vile things we hear,
For in this modern world where we live and we see,
I've learned that truth is your currency.
I’m so grateful today for that military home,
Where honor and duty were all I had known.
I learned to honor our country, its laws, and its flag,
As an honest citizen, giving my best.
And today, as we pause for the ones who have bled,
We watched as His Excellency, The Head of State, And Commander In Chief of the US Army, President Donald J. Trump, as he spoke to our blessed nation this Memorial Day
As we watched military families bow down to pray.
It reminded me of my own flesh and blood,
Who also served in the USA Army,
Who stood in the mud.
Some have now fallen to protect the world's light,
Giving their all in the perilous fight.
I listened today as the solemn words echoed,
A tribute to those who had battled so well.
Our beloved President shared how they "gave up their sacred light on earth so that the sublime light of American freedom would shine for ever and ever".
And the chaplain reminded us, through God's help from above,
That "liberty is never free it is fought and paid for in courage in service and in love".
Our heros stood for our blessed nation, defending the right,
They are "no mere mercenaries they are guardian angels," who vanquish the night.

So I pray and speak a deep blessing,
A tearful bow,
To the heroes now resting, and the current ones resolute.
We know that our freedom is not cheap or free,
It was bought with the ultimate price for you and me.
We cherish their memory, a blessing so deep,
And we praise God above for the sacrifices they keep.
We are greatful for our beloved President's hard work,
And his leadership team that secures our great land.
And keeps our home base so strong,
And fighting for military families all along.

I am proud of this soil, where our American flag has long waved,
The land of the free and the home of the brave.
May God bless our beloved President Donald J. Tump, his leadership team,
And the 50 United States of America, forever.
AMEN
I’m so grateful today for my childhood in a military home, where honor and duty is all I had known. I learned to honor our country, its laws, and its flag. As an honest, law abiding citizen, giving my best is my joy!
