It is in this verse that the explicit, titular phrase “God of Jeshurun” is permanently codified in the biblical record

“There is none like the God of Jeshurun”

His absolute uniqueness is achieved by contrasting Yahweh with the false, impotent foundations of all other surrounding nations, as Moses declares in his song, “Their rock is not as our Rock”

He wields the catastrophic forces of nature—hail, thunder, lightning, and torrential rain—to fight for His people, just as He did against the Egyptians during the Exodus and against the Canaanites during the conquest of the Promised Land

Yahweh does not ride the clouds merely to bring seasonal rain for crops; He rides them “in thy help” [b’ezreka]—specifically to execute salvation, deliverance, and military victory for the Israelites

Knowing our God, the Creator of the universe, is actively and personally involved in the historical deliverance of His people equips us to live with absolute confidence

God is never grounded; He traverses the highest realms of the firmament to reach His chosen ones

He also reaches underneath the earth to support the foundation of His people [Deuteronomy 33:27: “The eternal God is thy refuge, and underneath are the everlasting arms: and he shall thrust out the enemy from before thee; and shall say, Destroy them”]

The God of Jeshurun, our God, has given us multidimensional security, defense from above via the clouds, and sustenance from below via the everlasting arms
